Unique Melody graciously offers the Audiotiers community an opportunity to listen to their impressive new Mest Jet Black CIEM. In exchange for some tour thread feedback and perhaps a review for those inclined, we will each get a week to two weeks with the tour kit to enjoy their new sound. This allows each of us to try the IEM with our own music and audio gear and to discuss the outcome with each other.

I have been able to listen to the tour kit casually over the weekend, having received it on a Friday. Looking forward to a more focused listening session after I get the tour logistics set up, when I will be able to compare them to a wide range of CIEMs in my collection, and when I am able to dust off my better desktop equipment to see what they do with more power. Regardless, the listening experience so far is spectacular. Read on to see what is in the kit and further to read my initial impressions …hint …they were very positive.

Unique Melody Mest Black Tour Kit

We have arranged for a tour to hear the new CIEM. The kit is condensed without retail packaging to save on shipping costs. We are starting with one kit, but we will request more if we find that the tour size evolves to over 15 members.

• UM Jet Link Custom IEM Cable (Balanced 4.4mm): The UM Jet Link custom cable is specifically designed for the Mest Jet Black. Its black cable jacket and metal components complement the black ceramic shell of the earphones. • Case: A basic ripper case to keep the CIEMs safe.
• Tips: A basic array of tips. Most tour members are likely to use their own.

Rules and Responsibilities

We are offering 7-day auditions or 14-day review sessions for reviewers who leave a review.  You are required to ship out to the next participant on day 8 or 15. Yes, you pay the shipping to the next participant, but we organize the tour order into logistically friendly shipments to minimize the shipping expense.

The tour membership rules and responsibilities are described here. The key idea is that we must be communicative to participate and to keep the tour moving and interesting. It is our responsibility to follow these rules and to ensure the ability to ship out on day 8 or 15 when our turn is over. To do this, we also need to confirm our receipt when received and to reach out to the next two participants immediately so that they can confirm readiness – the next person is priority, with the second being a backup if the first is not ready or unresponsive. By communicating with the next participants immediately, there should never be a time that the kit cannot be shipped on time. Tour Participant Logistics

We are offering 7-day auditions to each participant. This logistics list is updated as I can to show you where we are in the order, with each participant bolded to signify that they received the kit. This is where you will find the next two participants to contact when you receive the kit.

Signup Period: During our signup period, we collect the initial participants and provide them with a logistically friendly portion of the tour. This is the lowest cost portion in terms of shipping. Once this closes, we move to the latecomer portion.

Latecomer Period: Latecomers are welcome to the tour on a first-come, first-served basis. We will continue taking latecomer requests until we run out of participants or the manufacturer asks us to end the tour.
